5.3.2  Institution facilitates students’ representation and engagement in various administrative, cocurricular and extracurricular activities following duly established processes and norms (student council, students representation on various bodies)


Response :

 

The Institute has a Student Council constituted with academically strong students as its body. It operates with a sense of responsibility in dealing with the student concerned activities. The Institute also encourages participation of students as representatives in various decisions making, academic and administrative committees, to enable them in acquiring better academic environment. Student opinions and suggestions are considered to take measures in view of students' perception. Institute puts efforts for the all-round development of a student. Students are involved in various activities & committees and the examples are given as below.


Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC): Student representatives are nominated for this cell, who participates in the decisions regarding the quality initiatives of the institute.


Alumni Committee/ Cell: SRCOE Alumni Association is registered and we have Alumni as few members. Various events viz. technical and non-technical are organized by this cell.


Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee: Institute has Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee and girl students are part of the said committee to address issues of women welfare.
NSS Cell: NSS activities are encouraged by the institute enabling the students to participate in social services like organizing blood donation, health & sanitation, adult education, and tree plantations, environmental awareness issues for the benefit of neighboring areas as a social responsibility. NSS cell encourages villagers about energy and water conservation, digital literacy and have participation in Unnat Bharat and Swach Bharat Abhiyan.


Board of Students Development: As a part of social responsibility, institute organizes various activities like Karmveer Bhaurao Patil Earrn and Learn Scheme, Disaster Management, Nirbhaya Kannya Abiyan, Tree Plantation, Covid Awareness and Mask Distribution, Water Conservation, career counseling of students etc.


Program Assessment Committee(PAC): Monitors the attainment of POs and PEOs. Prepares periodic reports on program activities, progress, status for management and key stake holders. Motivates the faculty and students towards attending workshops, developing projects, working models, paper publications and research.


SC/ST and OBC Committee: This Cell looks into the affairs of SC, ST and OBC students and staff of the institution. It is constituted and functional in the campus in accordance with guidelines of the University Grants Commission, Delhi/AICTE etc.


Anti-Ragging Committee: Anti-Ragging Committee is responsible for inculcating Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the Campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad office bearers, work under the supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and engage in the work of checking places like Hostels, Buses, Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation.


Sports and Gymkhana Committee: The Sports Department of our College plans, undertakes, organizes and manages all the sports related activities. It is headed by the Director of Physical Education. In addition to this, the College organizes Inter Collegiate Cricket, Online Chess, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Basket ball & Volleyball events on regular basis and students participation is encouraging.


Discipline Committee: The Disciplinary Committee will ensure compliance of Code of Discipline and Conduct for students and will suggest suitable actions in case of its violation. In case of matters concerning in the campus, the Disciplinary Committee is empowered to take necessary and appropriate decisions.

5.4 :- Alumni Engagement

5.4.1  There is a registered Alumni Association that contributes significantly to the development of the institution through financial and/or other support services

SRCOE Alumni Association, Pune is a registered Alumni Association under the Societies of Registration Act. It was formed on 28th Feb 2017 at the Registrar of Society, Pune Region.RegistrationNo: 309/2017/Pune under Societies Registration Act 1860.

 

SRCOE and the Alumni association jointly believe in creating and maintaining association with its alumni. It provides an interface for establishing a link between the alumni, staff, and students of the institute. SRCOE alumni are currently working at various positions and provides their services to the industry and society at large.

 

The Alumni Association Contribution through various means:-

1.Book Donation: Contribution by donating Books.
2.Alumni Interaction: They provide inputs to aspiring graduates of all branches. They are invited as resource persons at various events and guest lectures etc and panel discussions.They share their experiences regarding skills, recent technologies & trends incorporate world, application of knowledge and corporate working culture.
3.Placement & Career Guidance Assistance: Alumni are working in organizations a tvarious capacities. They keep the faculties and the placement officer abreast about the available job opportunities. They assist and guide the students to crack the interviews.They also share their experience with the students and motivate them for their career development in various domains. They also help in organizing industirial visits and expert talks etc.
4.Campus recruiters: Alumni come to campus as recruiters for their companies and also recommend and promote SRCOE to their employers for campus placements.
5.Entrepreneurship Awareness: Institute has established IIC i.e. Institute innovation cell which caters to the need and information related to entreprenenership development. Alumni helped to organize lectures, webinars on start-up, Govt. polices on starting/ establishing a business. They enlighten the students with their success stories and challenges faced. Few of our students have established start-ups and they shared their experiences with few colleagues.

 

1.Alumni Meet: We at SRCOE invite alumni for Alumni meet once in a year. In this meet the alumni get chance to reconnect with the Almamater and old as well as their junior friends.This is the best platform for networking and sharing new trends and current happenings in the corporate world.These inputs are helpful to academicians for moulding the aspiring students.
2.Promoting Institute Events: Alumni associates with various events conducted atSRCOE. One of the events at SRCOE“Yuvotsav” is a flagship sports and cultural event which is getting much more popular year after year.Alumni take active role in planning and organizing “Yuvotsav” as well as the branding of nstitute.
3.Institute Social Responsibility: Our Alumni are engaged in conducting social activities for the welfare of the society through donations in the form of books, blankets, chairs, mats, storage containers,stationary etc.
