Mechanical Department

Diploma Mechanical PO,CO and PSO

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

1: Provide socially responsible, environment friendly solutions to Mechanical engineering related broad-based problems adapting professional ethics
2: Adapt state-of-the-art Mechanical engineering broad-based technologies to work in multidisciplinary work environments
3: Solve broad-based problems individually and as a team member communicating effectively in the world of work. PEO 4: Pursue higher education, research or entrepreneurship.

Program Outcomes (POs)

1: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, sciences and basic engineering to solve the broad-based Mechanical engineering problems
2: Apply Mechanical engineering knowledge to solve broad-based mechanical engineering related problems
3: Plan to perform experiments and practices to use the results to solve broad-based Mechanical engineering problems
4: Apply relevant Mechanical technologies and tools with an understanding of the limitations
5: Assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to practice in field of Mechanical engineering.
6: Apply Mechanical engineering solutions also for sustainable development practices in societal and environmental contexts
7: Function effectively as a leader and team member in diverse/ multidisciplinary teams
8: Communicate effectively in oral and written form.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

1:Use latest Mechanical engineering related software for simple design, drafting, manufacturing, maintenance and documentation of mechanical engineering components and processes.
2: Maintain equipment and instruments related to Mechanical Engineering.
3: Manage Mechanical engineering processes by selecting and scheduling relevant equipment, substrates, quality control techniques, and operational parameters.

At PO, PSO level (Curriculum Gap Analysis)

I. POs and PSOs are achieved through formal courses and other co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
II. Target levels of attainment of POs and PSOs are set; program is delivered; actual attainment of Pos and PSOs is determined: the loop is closed either by increasing the target level for the next cycle of the program or by planning suitable improvements in all the relevant activities to increase the actual attainment.
III. Closing of loop must be carried out at the level of PEOs as well.
IV. This process is a view of quality implicitly central to accreditation.

1: Prepare the student with strong fundamentals concepts, analytical capabilities and skills.
2:Create ambience education through faculty training, self learning and sound academic practices.
3: Provide opportunities to promote organisational leadership and skills of students through various extracurricular activities and events.
4:To make the students industry ready as far as possible and enhance their employability in the industries.
5:Imbibe social awareness and responsibility in student to serve the society and protect environment.
